What is EMRG?

Who are we and what do we do?

The Emergency Medical Response Group (EMRG) at UTSC is a non-profit volunteer organization involving a collaborative team of UTSC students. We operate 24/7 providing first aid and emergency assistance to the students faculty and visitors on the UTSC campus.

EMRG offers services at the Emergency First Responder level. We run with Oxygen airway supplies, trauma supplies and spinal immobilization equipment.

We initiate life saving patient care until an ambulance arrives.

Training and Certifications

How do we maintain our skills?

training

All EMRG members are trained and certified at the minimum Standard First Aid & CPR-C level. Additionally members are further trained at an Emergency First Responder (EFR) level and are trained to carry Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

Certified EFRs are always on duty ensure prompt and effective care for medical emergencies which can range from a simple paper cut to a spinal injury.

EMRG members go through a monthly in-service training session as a refresher for members to practice their skills and to ensure our standard of care is at its highest.

Our trainers are EMRG members that ensure all members are proficient in their skills and capable of handling emergency situations.
